Post Doctoral Fellow
I am a medical anthropologist, and am currently focused on working with participatory and arts based methods to engage youth in research. My current projects include working with youth to enhance community connection for youth with mental health challenges in the Oceanside communities (Up Island) and working with the Resilience Innovation Lab at Royal Roads University to develop the ResiliencebyDesign Netowork. A primary goal of the RbD Network is to involve youth in research (with hubs in Australia, Indonesia, Uganda and Canada) related to youth engagement in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation, through the use of a social innovation lab methodology and using arts and nature based methods. Both of these projects involve engaging youth through social media and various platforms. I am interested in learning more about the uses of social media in research and specifically in tools that could assist in the creation and/or creative presentation of community toolkits.
